What to do with an Inside-Out Egg?
I found these at our Farmer’s Market last weekend. What a trip! The farmer said it is an heirloom breed of chicken that he’s in the process of re-establishing as a breeding flock, but had just a few eggs to sell. So far I’ve eaten a couple just soft-boiled like this, on toast. The taste is perfectly normal, except, well, inside out. Anyone have any better ideas of how to really showcase this unique find?

Ok, I admit it… here’s the truth about the egg! Use the share links below and see if you can fool your friends.
That is just too bizarre. I’ve never heard or even imagined such a thing existed?! Simply fascinating.
I call BS 🙂

if you want to know how to do this go to this web site or Google inside out egg
this can’t be real! I have seen a lot of things. This, I have not seen.
i am a fan of the wow factor, but nothing else… my fave part is a runny yolk, but i HATE runny whites. soft whites, yes, but runny? absolutely not.
i would soft poach it like this, then put it over a baby greens salad w/ crispy onion rings, bacon lardons, and a bacon vinaigrette. YUMMY! 🙂
I second kayce. Running whites? eh. But it looks awesome.
That’s so neat! I’ve never seen anything like it!
Fascinating! I’m curious which Farmer’s Market is selling them?
This are unborn eggs.
It’s best to fry them with livers and onion, some salt and pepper and that’s all. Try it you’ll love it.
Ha! You almost got me! That’s pretty cool.
Hahaha… that is funny.
Oh neat, nice find!! Are ya posting a how-to in English, or just leaving us with the link in the comments, eh?
I had not heard of these, but of course the new york times had, and they have some ideas about how to use them. They are indeed “unborn eggs” (harvested after the chickens have died).

Are these eggs for real? I can’t believe it! If you like poached eggs, check out this on my new site: http://tinyurl.com/bateuu They’re incredible for poached eggs, I tell you!
That is so neat! I’m not sure what you could make with them, but I would but them just because they were inside out.
Ha! Yer funny. What is it really? It’s pretty.
I LOVE LOVE eggs, but for some reason, I feel queasy looking at them with the textures reversed. Isn’t that weird? It must be that the only thing that keeps them from crossing my inner six-year-old’s mental line to gross must be the familiarity, but then seeing them out of context totally messes with that. This is what is so fun about experimental cooking – when it forces you to look at something familiar anew…
OMG Michael! How cool is that? I don’t know what else to say about it except that now I want one!
What a cool photo!!!
i love the photo… now there should be easter eggs inside out
That is really cool. But it is very strange too. Just imagine an inside-out chicken. Or maybe you would rather not.
Ok, I have to come clean.
WOAH!!! Its like a golden egg! That guy should be rich!
That is pure craziness. See what it would look like on Eggs Benedict or even sunny side up.
I have chickens in my backyard–and shall ask if they can make such an egg…How cool is that!
un born? how would that work? If the eggs we eat are born then we would be eating chicks. if you mean that they havn’t come out of the chicken yet, well then we’d see a chicken in the picture
Actually there is such a thing as unborn eggs.. they are eggs that are taken out of the chicken before they are laid.
hey, did you guys know that the word ‘gullible’ isn’t in the dictionary?! look it up!
I totally believed it!!!!!!!!!!
Common sense….spin the egg and the yolk breaks.
Boil or cook normal. Its not a special breed of chickens, just a prank.
HAHAHA it’s not even that!!! mango with coconut cream, if you read the description you would have known that. Not a real egg lol, molded in easter eggs!
weirdest thing ever… can’t be real.
LOOKS DISGUSTING
I have never heard/seen one of these before. How strange. Not sue how I feel about it.
